Introduction to the Chinese University of Hong Kong
The Chinese University of Hong KongThe Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is located in Ma Liu Shui, Sha Tin, New Territories, built on a hillside. It was officially established in October 1963 and is the second university in Hong Kong (the first being the University of Hong Kong, established in 1911). CUHK operates with a unique college federation system, formed by the merger of multiple colleges. Initially, it included New Asia College, Chung Chi College, and United College, and has gradually developed into the current nine colleges. It awards more than 3,000 bachelor's degrees and 5,000 master's and doctoral degrees annually.
The graduation ceremony at CUHK is usually held in mid-November and consists of two parts. The first part, the conferment of degrees, takes place in the morning on the CUHK campus.tree-lined avenueThe ceremony will be held on Million Avenue, presided over by the Chairman of the University Council, where Master's and Bachelor's degrees will be conferred. Graduates will stand in silence below the stage according to their respective colleges to receive their degrees collectively. The second part of the ceremony, the Bachelor's degree graduation ceremony, will be held separately by college on the same afternoon, presided over by the Dean of the respective college, and graduates will be individually introduced and taken to the stage.
Due to limited space, only seats were provided for graduating students during the morning degree conferment ceremony. Other relatives and friends could only watch the ceremony via live stream. Therefore, most relatives and friends participated in the college graduation ceremony held in the afternoon.
